Tennis: US Open champion Andreescu powers past Brady at China Open

The new US Open champion Bianca Andreescu eased into her sixth WTA quarter-final of the season with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Jennifer Brady of the United States at the China Open. Andreescu has been the breakthrough star of 2019 and continued her fine form against the American qualifier - extending her winning streak to 17 matches. The Canadian now faces Australian Open champion Naomi Osaka - but the Japanese former world number one should beware - Andreescu boasts eight wins out of eight matches against top 10 players this year.
