World number one Ashleigh Barty had to retire retired injured from her second-round French Open match against Magda Linette on Thursday. The 2019 champion managed to come through the first round despite needing lengthy treatment on her left hip during the match. She said she had her "fair share of tears this week" and that it was "a small miracle" to get on the court in the first round.
