Alize Cornet of France fought back from a set down and saved a match point in putting out Spain's Garbine Muguruza in the quarter-finals of the Berlin Open in Germany on Friday. Cornet beat the number six seed and former world number one 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(5), saving the match point in the tenth game of the decider on her own serve. Cornet forced a tiebreak and at one point led 6-1 before Muguruza closed to 5-6, but she managed to close out the match after more than two and-a-half hours on court. Number five seed Belinda Bencic will provide the opposition in the semis on Saturday.
