Tennis: Kei Nishikori beats Yuichi Sugita 6-4 6-1 in the Japan Open

The opening round of the Japan Open on Monday saw an all Japanese tie, as third seed Kei Nishikori faced Yuichi Sugita. Ranked 110 in the world, Sugita initially produced plenty of resistance before Nishikori edged a tight first set 6-4. But the third seed powering through the second set for the loss of just a single game to book his place in the second round of the tournament with a 6-4 6-1 win.
