After two previous successful editions, the Satna Half Marathon is all set for its third one, and this time the bar has already gone high with the kind of preparations that are being done by the organizers.
Inspired by the Fit India Movement, which was launched by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in 2019 and celebrating 75 years of Independence through ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the vision behind this event is to uplift the morale of youngsters, especially from rural areas, and to provide them a platform wherein they can discover their talent and nurture their skills.
The second edition of Satna Half Marathon was a grand success which saw the participation of over 2200+ participants over 45 years of age running with great gusto. Participants from 14 states and 94 districts took part in this marathon, which was organized according to international standards under the aegis of Pandit Ganesh Prasad Mishra Seva Nyas in Satna. Satna Half Marathon 2021 had participants of three age groups in which 12 to 18 years, 18 to 45 years and above 45 age groups participated.
Mr. Rakesh Mishra, the organizer of Satna Half Marathon has ticked all the boxes when it comes to making this marathon a technically advanced one as the jury team of the Physical Education Foundation of India, Dr. Piyush Jain and his colleagues made decisions with absolute transparency by comprehensive investigation through timing machine and web number provided to the players.
Mr. Rakesh Mishra, in an exclusive chat with Power Sportz, said that this time in the third edition, he has seen a boom in participation with over 2700+ players registering through an online medium. This time, there will be three categories kept for the event. The First will be half marathon of 21 kms wherein players from 18 to 45 years of age can take part, second category of 10 kms for youngsters, and third category of 5 kms. Exciting prizes for both men and women players have been kept to boost the morale of participants running in the Marathon.
