Ice Hockey: Chicago Blackhawks defeat Nashville Predators 2-1

The Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Nashville Predators 2-1 at the Wells Fargo Center in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Neither the Predators or Blackhawks were able to score a goal in the first period until the final minute of play. With just 34 seconds remaining, Kevin Fiala gave the Predators a 1-0 lead. In the second period, Blackhawks defenseman Gustav Forsling scored a goal, his second of the season, to tie the game 1-1. Later in the second period, Erik Gustafsson scored a power-play goal to give the Blackhawks a 2-1 lead. Blackhawks goalie Cam Ward made several impressive saves in the third period preserving a 2-1 victory for his team as neither squad scored a third-period goal.
