After an impressive performance against the World No. 2 Australian side where they managed a 2-2 draw, the Indian Women’s Hockey team today put in a tough shift to secure their place in the Final of the Olympic Test Event as they played out a 0-0 draw against World No. 11 China here at the Oi Hockey Stadium. The Indian team looked in good rhythm during the initial stages of the first quarter, and constantly built pressure on the Chinese defence. India started the second quarter also with great attacking flair, and won themselves their second Penalty Corner in the 17th minute. Gurjit Kaur tried to aim for the other side this time, but her try was again denied by Li. China needed the victory to make sure that they progress to the Final of the competition but India's defense was up to the task, and seemed determined to consolidate their position at the top of the points table.
