Himachal Pradesh lifted the National Senior Women’s Handball Championship title after beating Railways 20-10 at the Saroor Nagar Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad. Earlier, hosts Telangana women settled for bronze after going down to Himachal Pradesh in the semifinals. Telangana sports minister V. Srinivas Goud, SATS chairman Venkateshwar Reddy, Indian Olympic Association Treasurer Anandeshwar Pandey, national badminton chief coach Pullela Gopichand and National Handball Association president Arshanapalli Jagan Mohan Rao were present during the game and also distributed trophies to winners, runners-up, and third-place teams. Telangana sports minister V. Srinivas Goud said that Telangana government is giving top most priority to developing the sports infrastructure in the state. He also extended special congratulations to Mohan Rao, who has been organising handball competitions in the city with international standards for the last two years.
