Handball News : Anandeshwar Pandey steps down as HFI VP; says ‘conspirators’ will ‘learn the lesson’

Mr. Anandeshwar Pandey has stepped down from the post of vice president of Handball Federation of India. Anandeshwar Pandey was elected as the vice president for HFI in the elections conducted last year. In a letter dated January 5, 2021, the Ministry has told the Handball Federation of India that no person who has already held the office of President or Secretary General/Treasurer or both in a NSF consecutively for a period of two terms or eight years shall be eligible for re-election without cooling-off period of one term. Hence the election of Shri Anandeshwar Pandey as Vice President is in violation of the provisions of this Ministry's above referred letter dated 20.09.1975. Hence he may be directed to demit the office. The repercussions of this letter by the Ministry might be challenging for many other National Sports Federations in India, who are not in compliance with Sports Code.
