Bengaluru’s Chikkarangappa won the PGTI’s Jeev Milkha Singh Invitational tournament held at the Chandigarh Golf Club. Chikka, as he is fondly known among the golf circle, beat local favourite Karandeep Kochhar in a playoff after the regulation 72 holes had ended in a tie at 12 under 276. In the playoff, Karandeep felt the pressure as he missed the two feet par putt – much to the disbelief of the home crowd – as Chikka finally clinched the title that ended a two-year title drought. Chikka thus kept his enviable playoff record intact by winning his fourth playoff on the PGTI and is so far undefeated in playoffs.
