Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored both goals as AC Milan beat hosts Cagliari 2-0 on Monday to move three points clear of local rivals Inter Milan at the top of the Serie A standings. Ibrahimovic, who was starting his first game since returning from a thigh injury, opened the scoring in the seventh minute, converting from the penalty spot after being brought down by Charalampos Lykogiannis. The Swede was on target again six minutes into the second half, waiting for a VAR review that confirmed he was onside when Davide Calabria delivered an inviting through ball from deep inside the visitors' half of the pitch. Milan finished the match with ten men - substitute Alexis Saelemaekers picking up two yellow cards in the eight-minute he was on the pitch - but Cagliari couldn't make the extra man count and were beaten for a fifth successive Serie A game.
