Football News: Real Madrid are confident of winning Jude Bellingham race

According to rumours, Real Madrid is certain they will prevail in the competition for the services of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham. After shining for both club and country over the past few seasons, the 19-year-old is poised to become one of the most sought-after players in Europe when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

Bellingham moved to Germany in 2020 from his hometown team Birmingham City, and since then he has improved tremendously, amassing 19 goals and 21 assists in 112 appearances across all competitions.

The adolescent also distinguished himself for England at the 2022 World Cup, where he scored his first goal as a senior in the 6-2 group-stage win over Iran.

Bellingham has a deal with BVB that runs through the summer of 2025,but the German club is preparing for bids as a number of top teams, including Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, and PSG, are all keen in signing him.

The Ligue 1 winners' desire to sign Bellingham was recently confirmed by PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, according to Sky Sports News.

"Everybody wants him, I'm not going to hide it. He's at his club, and [we have] respect, so if we want to talk to him we'll talk to the club first."

"Amazing player, what a player. England [are] lucky to have him, to be honest. He's one of the best players in the [World Cup]. [It's] amazing, his first World Cup, he's calm and relaxed, confident - amazing."

While a different rumour later suggested that the Reds are unlikely to pursue a bid for the midfielder in January because to his high $130 million asking price, a recent story said that Liverpool were growing more confident of winning the race to capture Bellingham.

Man City, the current Premier League champions, reportedly plans to increase their interest in Bellingham if they think they have a chance to convince the midfielder to move to the Etihad Stadium. Meanwhile, Man United's rivalry with Bellingham is rumoured to have resumed.

But according to The Sun, Real Madrid is sure that Bellingham will reject a move to the Premier League and sign a deal worth more than £100 million to join the current Champions League and La Liga champions.

The 21-year-old, who impressed for World Cup champion Argentina in Qatar, was named Young Player of the Tournament at the 2022 World Cup, yet the midfielder reportedly prefers to play for Liverpool if he decides to leave Benfica.
