Football News :Messi set for leading role as Ligue 1 leaders PSG prepare to face lowly Lorient

Paris Saint-Germain trained at their Camp des Loges facility in the western suburbs of the French capital on Tuesday, on the eve of their Ligue 1 trip to relegation-threatened Lorient.

PSG currently hold 13 point lead over Marseille at the top of the table and Mauricio Pochettino's side have been beaten just once in 14 games - that came in the Champions League at the hands of Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in November.

In stark contrast Lorient lie second from bottom - Christophe Pelissier's men haven't won since late September - a run of 12 games - and they've lost on their last eight outings, conceding 17 goals and scoring just twice along the way.

It's the worst run ever in their top-flight history.

History is against them too - the PSG have won eight of their previous nine competitive visits to the Stade du Moustoir.

PSG will be without suspended pair Kilian Mbappe and Marco Verratti and Neymar is still sidelined with injury - Lionel Messi is therefore expected to take centre stage.
