Football News: Manchester United makes Porto midfielder as a potential summer target

Manchester United are allegedly interested in signing Porto midfielder Marko Grujic this summer. The Red Devils are having one of their best seasons in a long time,

They have already won the EFL Cup and progressed to the latter stages of the FA Cup and Europa League. Additionally, Erik ten Hag's squad appears to be on track to finish third in the Premier League rankings.

Thus, reducing the distance on Arsenal and Manchester City ahead of 2023-24. Moreover, in order to build a title contenders' squad, United are likely to be busy in the upcoming transfer window.

As things stand, that duty falls to either Fred or Scott Mc Tominay, with the latter having slid down the pecking order at Old Trafford this season.

With McTominay likely leaving United in the summer and little certainty over the future of Bayern Munich loanee Marcel Sabitzer, the English giants may require two new faces.

According to Telegraf, United has begun discussions with intermediaries about the availability of Grujic.

The Serbia international is no stranger to English football, having spent three years on loan with Liverpool, appearing in 16 games.

But, the 26-year-old has improved his reputation since joining Porto in 2020, appearing in 94 games for the Portuguese giants.

According to the article, any potential trade could be delayed by Grujic's childhood devotion to Liverpool.

Yet, it looks that United are interested in signing Grujic, despite the fact that the player has more than three years left on his Porto deal.

AC Milan is also thought to be keeping an eye on the situation, however it is unclear what sum Porto could expect if they decide to sell later this year.
