Football News : Manchester United in pursuit of Jude Bellingham for winter transfer window

According to reports, Manchester United will have a good chance of acquiring Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham during the summer transfer window.

The 19-year- old's future was the subject of rumours during the most recent market, but BVB never considered selling him because it had already let Erling Braut Haaland to go during the same window.

Bellingham's contract with Dortmund has three more years yet to run, but it is widely believed that he will depart the German team in a high-profile trade next summer.

The English international is still being closely connected to Liverpool, who are among the favourites to sign him before the 2023-24 season. Florian Plettenberg, a journalist for Sky Deutschland, claims that Man United also have a "very high chance" of signing the adolescent next summer.

"He's an upcoming superstar player. I am totally convinced he will leave Dortmund in 2023, maybe to Liverpool, maybe to Manchester United,"

said the journalist.

"I think these are two teams that have very good chances to get him. He's an amazing player, amazing character. Very good personality."

Bellingham started the 2022-23 season with two goals in eight games, compared to the six goals and 14 assists he registered in 44 appearances across all competitions last season.

Since joining BVB from Birmingham City in 2020, the Englishman has been in excellent form, providing 12 goals and 18 assists in 98 appearances across all competitions.

The teenager has also been closely associated with Real Madrid, who reportedly see him as a potential successor for Casemiro, who joined Manchester United in the summer.

Bellingham is reportedly worth around £100 million to Dortmund, who sees promise in the youngster in a high European league in addition to his performance in the Champions League.

Sebastian Kehl, director of BVB, recently stated that despite recent rumours, the German club was hopeful of keeping him through next summer.

Kehl told Sky90:

"I hope that Jude Bellingham will stay at BVB beyond 2023. I can see he feels super comfortable with us."

In 67 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund, Bellingham has contributed four goals and 11 assists. In 17 Champions League contests, Bellingham has contributed three goals and four assists.

The midfielder is presently in England training with the BVB team in anticipation of their Champions League matchup against Premier League champion Manchester City on Wednesday.
