Kristie Mewis scored the winning goal against the Chicago Red Stars to give the Houston Dash their first win in the NWSL regular season on Saturday (29 May). The American midfielder tapped in a cross from Sophie Schmidt in the 83rd minute to settle the tight contest. Chicago forward Mallory Pugh opened the scoring in the 4th minute, before Houston striker Nichelle Prince netted a sublime strike from the edge of the box 14 minutes later to make it 1-1.
