According to Ansu Fati, he doesn't have any immediate plans to leave Barcelona.
When Fati initially appeared on the scene at the age of 16, he quickly established himself as a first-team regular at Camp Nou and was, of course, seen as Lionel Messi's successor.
However, the winger's development has been hampered by injuries, and Xavi no longer considers him to be a lock for the starting lineup.
After participating for 85 minutes in Barcelona's 2-0 win over Cadiz on Sunday, Fati has only been allowed to make 10 starts and 23 substitute appearances in 2022-23.
Due to his fall in the hierarchy, there is currently much rumour around his long-term future with the Catalan giants at a time when the team still has to dramatically improve their financial situation.
The sale of a graduate from an academy can be recorded as pure profit under FFP standards, and the sale of Fati would surely provide club officials a big lift in terms of re-establishing some balance.
Despite not seeing any regular game action, the 20-year-old has stated that he has no desire to consider leaving Barcelona.
After a segment of Sports Solidarity Tales, Fati addressed the media saying
"I'm under contract with Barcelona until June 2027 and I hope to stay here for many more years."
This commitment comes in response to previous remarks made by Xavi, who said that he thought the Spanish international will only become better with time.
Talking about recent speculation last week, Xavi said:
"Ansu Fati is non-transferable, like everyone in the squad right now. He's a very important player. I have tremendous hope.
"We expect a lot from him, I have blind confidence in him. I have it with everyone. We have been shaping the squad based on what I have wanted."
Since Jorge Mendes, a representative for Fati, is alleged to have gotten in touch with prestigious European clubs to gauge interest, Manchester United has been strongly associated with a summer offer for the player.
The cost of Fati had been estimated to be around £90 million, but that estimate seems meaningless at this point because neither the player nor the manager want to see him leave.
