Qatar inaugurated the Education City Stadium on Monday - the third venue to be completed ahead of the 2022 World Cup. Nicknamed the 'Diamond in the Desert', it has a capacity of 40,000 and follows the completion of the Khalifa International Stadium and Al Janoub Stadium. The stadium has been given a five-star rating from the Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS) - the first of any World Cup venue to get such a rating. Parts of the arena set to be re-purposed after the tournament, with half the donated to build stadiums in developing countries.
