Melbourne City enjoyed their first derby win in seven attempts, beating Melbourne Victory 2-1 in the A-League. Florin Berenguer scored his first-ever A-League goal to put City ahead in the eighth minute while prolific scorer Jamie MacLaren scored the second in the 71st minute. Ola Toivonen reduced the margin in the 78th minute when City goalkeeper Tom Glover let slip a regulation free-kick through his hands. City held on to win 2-1 and register their first win in a Melbourne Derby in seven attempts.
