The England manager Gareth Southgate has said as a white man he feels "embarrassed" about racism in society and admitted as a player he was unaware of how bad discrimination was in society. The 49-year-old was talking to former England, Manchester City and Fiorentina right-back Micah Richards during a video chat hosted by the English Football Association on Tuesday. English football players have been reacting over recent weeks to the killing of George Floyd by a white policeman kneeling on his neck in Minneapolis on May 25th. Forward Raheem Sterling and defender Tyrone Mings have both voiced their opinions on the Black Lives Matters movement and Southgate earlier this week told the media he was "tremendously proud" of their actions.
