Football: Davy Klaassen double all but wraps up Dutch title for Ajax in 2-0 win over AZ

A Davy Klaassen double in the second half gave Ajax a 2-0 win over AZ on Sunday, all but securing the Dutch League title for Erik ten Hag's side. 7,500 fans were allowed into the Johan Cruyff Arena to see the action for real on what would have been the Ajax and Holland legend's 74th birthday. AZ, vying with PSV for the second Champions League qualification spot in the table, were intent on spoilng the party though and might have scored three or four after dominating the first half. However, Ajax got their game going in the second and Klaassen opened the scoring in the 66th minute before making sure of the win in the 90th. Ajax now have 76 points from 30 games, 12 more than PSV with four games left in the season - with their vastly superior goal difference, Ajax have in reality already pocketed the title, but not mathematically. A point at home against FC Emmen on 2nd May will make sure.
