Brisbane Roar beat Newcastle Jets 1-0 at home in the A-League on Friday thanks to Scott McDonald's first half strike. The win was the Roar's third win in a row, putting Robbie Fowler's charges on 35 points, just a point behind third place Wellington Phoenix.
