Ryan Mendes netted the winner as Sharjah edged Al Nasr 1-0 on Thursday to extend their unbeaten run in the Arabian Gulf League (AGL) to 15 games since the start of the season. Sharjah's first goal was disallowed when Saif Rashid handled the ball before passing into the box in the 39th minute. Three minutes later, Rashid was brought down by Al Nasr's Tariq Ahmad, who was shown the red card. Mendes' goal came midway through the second half, with the referee disallowing another goal in the fifth minute of added time. But this time the decision went their way as Alvaro Negredo's goal was judged offside, giving Sharjah their fifth-successive victory and a five point lead over second-placed Al Ain in the AGL table. Al Nasr lie in ninth place on 16 points.
