EURO 2020 : Italian PM receives victorious Euro 2020 team

Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi on Monday hosted the country's football team at his office in Chigi Palace on Monday after their historic victory at Wembley Stadium in the final of Euro 2020. The team, which was greeted earlier by Italian President Sergio Mattarella, was met by Draghi in the square outside his office. Draghi, surrounded by the players raised the cup and cheered while policemen were holding back excited fans. Draghi spoke of the win as putting Italy in "the centre of Europe" and said he'd received "many messages of congratulations." He concluded by stating the good football can do "sport teaches, unites, makes people dream." Italy won the European Championship in 1968 and has also won four World Cup titles. The most recent was in 2006. England was trying to win its first European Championship title.
