Cricket News : There were issues- Cricket Australia chief Nick Hockley on Langer quitting

Cricket Australia chief executive Nick Hockley said on Saturday that "there were issues" following Justin Langer's decision to quit as the head coach of Australia.

Hockley's reference to "issues" is the dissatisfaction amongst some of the senior players on Langer's style of functioning that came to the forefront last year immediately after their first ODI series defeat to Bangladesh.

Hockley said even though Langer had guided Australia to their maiden ICC T20 World Cup title and a 4-0 Ashes series win, Cricket Australia was always going to review the role of Langer as the coach at the end of his initial four-year term.

Assitant coach Andrew MacDonald has been elevated as the temperory coach of the team and he wll be in charge during the home series against Sri Lanka as well as Australia's first tour to Pakistan in nearly two decades.
