Gerhard Erasmus-led Scotland scripted history by beating Andrew Balbirnie's Ireland by eight wickets to become the fourth and final team to qualify for the Super 12 stage. Ireland's torrid campaign at this edition of the WC comes to an end. Opting to bat first, Ireland could only post 125/8 in 20 overs. David Wiese bagged 2 wickets, and Jan Frylinck's 3 wickets led the charge with the ball. In response, they chased down the target in 18.3 overs. Wiese, once again, shone as he scored an unbeaten 28, alongside Erasmus' unbeaten 53, to take home the ‘Player of the Match award’.
