Rohit Sharma led Mumbai beat Dinesh Karthik led Kolkata by 49 runs at the Sheikh Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi. Captain Rohit Sharma led from the front scoring 80 off 54 balls. Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav forged a 90-run partnership for the second wicket as Quinton de Kock was dismissed cheaply. Suryakumar Yadav scored 47 off 28 balls. Mumbai managed to score 195 for 5 in 20 overs. Chasing the massive 196-run target Kolkata lost both their openers Shubhman Gill and Sunil Narine cheaply. Captain Dinesh Karthik top scored for Kolkata scoring 30 but his team never looked like chasing the target as Mumbai registered a comprehensive win against Kolkata after losing the first match to Chennai.
