Cricket News: MI takes a dig at RCB after maiden win in IPL 2023

After two consecutive defeats in the ongoing IPL 2023, Mumbai Indians have finally achieved their first win of the season, defeating Delhi Capitals by six wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday, April 11.

The captain set the tone by scoring 65 runs off 45 deliveries, which ultimately determined the outcome of the game. Even though the middle-order batters struggled at times, Tim David and Cameron Green eventually guaranteed that the two points were returned home.

Meanwhile, following their amazing triumph, MI made a subtle dig at RCB on their social media profile. As RCB's fans had earlier insulted India captain Rohit Sharma at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

During MI's match against RCB, home fans chanted 'Rohit Vadapav,' which irritated the five-time champs. In response to RCB supporters' criticism, MI wrote on social media, "You believe in Karma, we believe in Sharma."

Notably, the 35-year-old failed to make a big contribution in the encounter against RCB, But he did put on a show against DC and finally won his 19th Player of the match award, the most by an Indian in competition's history.

Delhi, on the other side, suffered their fourth consecutive league defeat. They are now at the bottom of the IPL Points table, and things do not appear to be looking good for the Delhi camp.

David Warner scored another half-century, but his strike rate remains a major worry. Middle-order hitters have yet to show themselves, while bowlers have a lot of opportunity for improvement.

However, Axar Patel's batting form is a huge plus for the team. The Southpaw scored 54 runs off just 25 deliveries against the Mumbai Indians and thus he deserves a move up in the batting order, although he is yet to get one.

Next, Delhi will travel to Bengaluru to face Royal Challengers Bangalore, who have only won one game in the competition so far.
