Cricket News: IPL 2020 - Mumbai beat Delhi, Rajasthan beat Hyderabad

Mumbai beat Delhi by five wickets at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi to go on top of the IPL 2020 Points table. Opting to bat, Delhi lost openers Prithvi Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane cheaply. Shikhar Dhawan's unbeaten 69 kept one end intact and received good support from skipper Shreyas Iyer's who scored 42 in the middle. The duo were involved in a crucial 85-run partnership for the 3rd wicket. After Iyer's dismissal, Dhawan and Alex Carey added 32 runs in the final 21 balls to help Delhi post a respectable 162/4. Chasing 163-run target, Mumbai lost skipper Rohit Sharma early for five but a 45-run stand for the second wicket between de Kock and Suryakumar followed by a 53-run partnership between Suryakumar and Ishan Kishan all but secured an easy win for the four-time champions. In another match Rajasthan beat Hyderabad at the Dubai International Stadium by 5 wickets. Despite a slow start Hyderabad managed to post a fighting total scoring 158/4 in their 20 overs. Captain David Warner and Manish Pandey batted brilliantly and stitched a crucial 73-run stand for the second wicket, scoring runs at a brisk pace without taking too many risks. Defending 158-run target Hyderabad were on top for the majority of the innings reducing Rajasthan to 78/5. But Rahul Tewatia and young Riyan Parag held their nerves and took the game deep. With 65 runs required in the last five overs, both the batters changed gears and put pressure back on the Hyderabad bowlers. In this way both pulled off a thrilling chase for Rajasthan.
