England captain Joe Root said he expects his side to play a lot better when they face Australia in the Third Ashes Test, which gets underway in Melbourne on Boxing Day (26th December).

After big defeats by 9 wickets and 275 runs in the opening two matches, England need to win at the MCG to keep the five-match series alive.

Australia - as holders of the Ashes - only need a drawn series to retain the urn.
