Boxing News: Asian Boxing Championship postponed to 2021

The Asian Boxing Championship, which was to be held in India in the month of November-December, has now been postponed to next year amid COVID-19 scare. The decision was taken at the Asian Boxing Confederation’s Executive Committee meeting. According to the secretary-general of Boxing Federation of India Mr. Jay Kowli, The 2021 window for it will be discussed in the next EC meeting in November. India last hosted the men’s Asian meet back in 1980 in Mumbai before conducting the women’s event in 2003 in Hisar. The tournament became a combined event for men and women last year. Since the resumption of sporting activities is taking place slowly, some boxers have also assembled for a camp in Patiala.
