Real Madrid strengthened their hold on a Euroleague playoff place by edging Panathinaikos in a double-overtime thriller on Tuesday. The Spanish side were in control for three-quarters of regular time - and with a 14-point lead midway through the third, looked capable of securing a convincing win. But with Nemanja Nedovic suddenly finding his shooting form, the hosts fought back in the last ten minutes before eventually going down. After hitting only five points in the first 30 minutes, Nedovic bagged a game-high 27 as Panathinaikos lost 97-93. Walter Tavares led Madrid with 20.
