News: Neeraj Chopra out of race for National Open Athletics Championships

Ace Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has been asked to withdraw from the 59th National Open Athletics Championship as his coaches feel that he is not fully recovered from the elbow injury and the surgery for which happened in the month of May last year. Chopra has not participated in any championship in more than a year since throwing 83.90 metre in the Service Athletics Championships in Jalahalli on September 19 last year. However, Neeraj had urged his interest to participate in the championships and said that he wanted to get back to the competition mode. Neeraj was training in South Africa, when it was diagnosed that his elbow injury requires surgery in May last year.
