2019 W Series runner-up Beitske Visser stole the show as W Series 2020 got underway with their inaugural E-League competition on Wednesday night, with drivers racing from their homes at 'The Temple of Speed' Monza, in Italy. The format comprised of three races - 15 minutes for race one, 15 minutes for a reverse grid race two (determined by the finishing positions from race one) and a 20 minute third and final race. Championship points are allocated as follows for each race - 20-17-15-13-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 (1st – 15th) & one point for fastest lap. Race one qualifying: 1st Caitlin Wood, 2nd Beitske Visser, 3rd Nerea Marti Race one top three: 1st Beitske Visser, 2nd Irina Sidorkova, 3rd Nerea Marti Race two qualifying: Reverse grid from race one results Race two top three: 1st Emma Kimilainen, 2nd Fabienne Wohlwend, 3rd Gosia Rdest Race three qualifying: 1st Caitlin Wood, 2nd Beitske Visser, 3rd Ayla Agren Race three top three: 1st Beitske Visser, 2nd Nerea Marti, 3rd Irina Sidorkova Visser's two race wins means she tops the championship on 49 points after round one - with Sidorkova second (46pts) and Rdest third (36pts). Round two takes place at the USA's Circuit of the Americas on June 18th.
