Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo won the Italian GP and dedicated his victory to Jason Dupasquier, who died following a crash during Moto3 qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix, the Careggi Hospital in Florence. Quartararo finished ahead of Joan Mir and Miguel Oliveira second and third respectively. The French rider, who has already won three Grand Prix so far this season, led in the standings with 105 points, followed by Johann Zarco with 81 points, and Francesco Bagnaia with 79. The MotoGP now moves back to Spain ahead of the Catalan GP on June 6th.
