Tennis: Wawrinka beats Paire in the first round of the World Tennis Tournament

Three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka returned to action against France's Benoit Paire in the first round of the World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Wawrinka, ranked 68th of the world, beat Paire in straight sets 7-6(4), 6-1 in one hour and 14 minutes. The Swiss recovered a loss of serve in the 10th game - after he saved two set points - to force the tie-break which he then won seven points to four. The second set was far more straightforward for 33-year-old Wawrinka, who broke Paire's serve three times to win the match in straight sets.
