Second seed Kiki Bertens beat Belgian qualifier Ysaline Bonaventure to reach the quarter-finals of the St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy. Bertens dominated on her serve, striking 13 aces across both sets en route to a 6-4, 6-2 win in just over an hour. The world number eight will be playing in her second quarter-final of the year, following a run to the last four in Sydney earlier this month. She will next face world number 32 Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, after the Russian upset sixth seed Jelena Ostapenko with a 6-4, 6-4 defeat earlier.
