Tennis: Basilashvili beats Khachanov in first round of Dubai Tennis Championships

Nikoloz Basilashvili beat fourth seed Karen Khachanov in the opening round of the Dubai Tennis Championships. The 19-year-old from Georgia had lost his two previous matches against Khachanov, but broke in the 10th game to take the opening set 6-4. Fortune helped Basilashvili establish an early break in the second as his backhand clipped the net dropping over the other side. Khachanov's frustration earned him a warning from the umpire - and the Russian didn't help his cause with a double fault to put him a second break down. Basilashvili completed a 6-4, 6-1 win in an hour and nine minutes.
