Number six seed Kevin Anderson reached the quarter-finals of the Miami Open after a straight-set victory - 7-5, 7-5, over world number 77 Jordan Thompson.The South African, who's playing his first tournament since the Australian Open in January due to an elbow injury, was 4-1 down in the first set, but came back in style winning six of the following seven games. A break of serve in the eleventh game of the second set was enough for Anderson to wrap up the match with a double 7-5 over Thompson, who was playing his first Masters 1000 fourth round. Anderson has now the chance to reach his first semi-final in the Florida tournament - in the quarters he will face the winner between Roger Federer and Daniil Medvedev.
