Goalkeeper Andrei Radu came to Genoa's rescue with a reflex save from a free kick by Insigne in the 67th minute. With four minutes remaining, Napoli secured all three points. Another free kick, this time by Rui, saw Insigne Davide Biraschi turn the ball into his own net. It finished 2-1 to Napoli as they continued to pursue Juventus.
