Robbie Fowler's Brisbane Roar started the new year on a winning note as they defeated Western Sydney Wanderers 2-1 away in the A-League. It was the Roar's first away win of the season. The Wanderers took a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute, but Scott Neville equalized 1-1 in the 20th minute. Brisbane posted the winner in the 61st minute through Bradden Inman to secure a 2-1 victory.
