The second leg of the Inter-Zonal final of the AFC Cup took place in Ashgabat, as hosts Altyn Asyr took on North Korean side April 25 Sports Club.The first leg had ended 2-2 in Pyongyang and the North Koreans got off to a dream start with Han Song Hyok reacting the quickest with a header after keeper Mamed Orazmuhamedov had saved Sim Hyon Jin's strike in the seventh minute. Altyn Asyr had a great chance to equalise in the first minute of added time when Vahyt Orazsahedov was put through on goal, only for the striker to miss as April 25 led 1-0 at the break. The visitors then got a penalty in the 54th minute after Shohrat Soyunov fouled Kim Yu Song in the box. The onus was now on captain An Il Bom to score, but keeper Orazmuhamedov denied him. That save had added significance later on as Altyn were awarded a penalty at the other end after Kim Chol Bom fouled Serdar Annaorazov. Vahyt, who had missed a gilt-edged chance in the first half, made amends from 12 yards out to make it 1-1 for the afternoon, 3-3 on aggregate, with Altyn ahead on away goals. The visitors couldn't get a second goal as it ended 1-1 in Ashgabat - a result that meant Altyn Asyr go through to the final of the AFC Cup on away goals. It's the first time they have made it to the final, where they will face defending champions Air Force club of Iraq, who are aiming to win the AFC Cup for a third time in a row.
