Raul Albiol's first half goal was enough to secure Napoli a 1-0 win over SPAL in Serie A on Saturday. With this result, Carlo Ancelotti's side closed the gap with leaders Juventus to just six points ahead of the 'Bianconeri' match against Roma on the same day. Napoli dominated the first half and had a Dries Mertens goal disallowed for offside in the 10th minute. They had to wait stoppage time to score, with Albiol netting with a powerful header from Mertens' corner. Mertens was on fire in the second half as well and hit the post in the 80th minute from Lorenzo Insigne's assist. In the dying minutes of the match, though, SPAL had two clear chances to level up, but Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret produced two difficult saves from Alberto Paloschi's shot and Mohamed Fares' header to save the result for his team.
