Cricket News: 'No cricketing ties with Pak until govt's nod'

Indian Premier League chairman Rajiv Shukla reiterated BCCI’s stance in the wake of the Pulwama attacks in which over 40 CRPF personnel were killed by terrorist outfit in the Jammu and the Kashmir region on Thursday. Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad claimed responsibility for the attack. Shukla made it clear that there is no possibility of bilateral cricket ties between India and Pakistan unless they get government's nod. Shukla admitted to have faith in the concept of sports being above everything else but asserted that if somebody is sponsoring terrorism then it would obviously have an impact on sports. When asked if India will play against Pakistan in the forthcoming World Cup, Shukla ducked the question. Let’s listen in . Also, Veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has made it clear that he doesn't want India to play Pakistan in the World Cup. Harbhajan said India are strong enough to win the World Cup even if they decide to forfeit the match against Pakistan in Manchester on June 16.
