Cricket News : 'It's a big blow' - Ali on losing Jason Roy to injury ahead of New Zealand

England all rounder, Moeen Ali, said on Monday that "it's a big blow' for England to lose Jason Roy ahead of their T20 World Cup semi-final against New Zealand on Wednesday. Roy will miss the rest of the T20 World Cup with a torn left calf dealing England a major setback. The in-form opening batter suffered the injury as England lost for the first time in their campaign against South Africa on Saturday, and a subsequent scan has drawn a line through his name for the remainder of the tournament. James Vince has been brought into the squad, having been one of two remaining travelling reserves, with Roy joining left-arm quick Tymal Mills on the sidelines ahead of England's most important T20 since the 2016 World Cup final. "You can bring in James (Vince), you can bring in (Sam) Billings, you can bring in, like you say, a bowler," said the 34-year-old on Roy's replacement. Ali also said that he was not 'surprised' about reports of racism and bullying that affected cricketer Azeem Rafiq at Yorkshire. "I think people have to think about what they can say and can't say in terms of discriminating against people and knowing what people feel and what people go through. Azeem (Rafiq) talked a lot about his mental health," added Ali.
