Cricket News: Hyderabad maul Mumbai by 10 wickets to qualify for play-offs

Hyderabad humiliated 4-time champions cby 10 wickets in the last league match of IPL 2020. Hyderabad became the fourth and final team to advance to the playoffs after Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore, knocking out Kolkata from the playoff race. David Warner played a captain's knock scoring an unbeaten 85 off 58 balls with ten boundaries and a six punctuating his knock. This was his fourth half-century of the season taking his runs tally to 529 runs in 14 matches. To give his company at the other end was wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha who scored 58 off 45 balls. This was his 2nd half-century of the season for Saha. Earlier in the day, Hyderabad bowlers bowled exceptionally well to restrict Mumbai to 149/8 in 20 overs. Pacer Sandeep Sharma was the pick of the bowlers picking up 3 wickets while Shahbaz Nadeem and Jason Holder picked up 2 wickets each. Despite losing, Mumbai remain on top of the points table with 18 points in 14 matches followed by Delhi who have 16 points from 14 matches. With this win, Hyderabad knocks out Kolkata on the basis of better net run-rate after finishing with 14 points. Hyderabad finished 3rd while Bangalore finished 4th. Punjab, Chennai and Rajasthan finished 6th, 7th and 8th respectively on net run-rate as they have 12 points each.
