Khimki Moscow Region downed Euroleague leaders Fenerbahce 84-78 in a pulsating round 17 encounters at the Mytishchi Arena. It was Khimki's first win over the Turkish side in nearly six years and brought Fenerbahce's 12-game winning streak to an end. The Turks had the edge in the first half of the game and led by three points going into the third quarter. But Khimki responded with a strong counter-attack and the two sides were locked at 72-all at the end of regulation time - courtesy of a last-gasp free throw from Fenerbahce's Nicolo Melli. The Moscow side kept up the pressure in the overtime period, and added 12 points to Fenerbahce's six to snatch a memorable victory.
