Badminton News: PV Sindhu knocked out of Japan Open 2019

India’s ace shuttler PV Sindhu’s campaign at the Japan Open ended with a straight games loss to Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi. In a repeat of last week's Indonesia Open final, 5th seed PV Sindhu failed to avenge her title contest defeat as the Japanese downed the Indian 18-21, 15-21 in 50 minutes to cruise into the semi-finals of the prestigious Super 750 tournament. In a thrilling first set, both the players gave each other a hard fight for every point. The set was levelled at 3-3 before Sindhu displayed an attacking game to take a 11-7 lead into the first interval. The Indian, however, failed to maintain the lead as the 4th seeded Japanese found her way back to make the score 16-14 in her favour. Sai Praneeth entered the semi-finals of the tournament after beating Indonesia's Tommy Sugiarto 21-12, 21-15 in the quarter-final.
