Hockey News: Indian Men’s Hockey Team lose 1-2 to New Zealand in Olympic Test event

After an impressive 6-0 win against Malaysia in their opening match of the Olympic Test Event, the Indian Men's Hockey team suffered a defeat at the hands of World No. 8 New Zealand by a scoreline of 2-1 in their second match of the tournament held here at the Oi Hockey Stadium. Captain and Drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh gave India the lead in the 2nd minute by converting a Penalty Corner, but New Zealand struck back in the last quarter through two well-crafted field goals which were scored by Jacob Smith (47') and Sam Lane (60'). World No. 5 India started the match with an aggressive approach and dominated possession in the opening few minutes.
