Golf : Thailand edge Japan on day one of Amata Friendship Cup

Thailand won the day one match 5-3 against Japan in the inaugural Amata Friendship Cup at Chonburi in Thailand. Five male and five female professionals, as well as one male and one female amateur from each nation, became the pioneers in a three-day event to be played at the world-renowned Amata Spring Country Club. This occasion is a unique, world first golf event, featuring a Team of Thailand's best male and female golfers taking on a team of their Japanese counterparts. Sisters Ariya and Moriya Jutanagurn are in the host team, joining male players Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Thongchai Jaidee. The Japanese players include PGA Tour winner Satoshi Kodaira, LPGA star Nasa Hatakoa and European Tour star Hideto Tanihara.
